Happy Birthday to Me

Today I turned 38 years old.  That is getting so close to 40.  It's a little sickening, but I wouldn't trade anything I have to be younger.  I already received the best gifts ever in 2009 and 2011 - now it is all about celebrating for them.

Hope picked out my cake - she was so excited because they put my name on it.
Hope assumed the duty of adding the candles.
She added 15 in all - she was very careful not to mess up the writing.
 Singing
 Blowing out the candles
Juliana - ready to dig in
Red icing on her face and in her hair to match her shirt

Late Father's Day Pic

A little late, and not great pics, but here are pictures of Daddy with his two beautiful little girls.

Our Daily Life - Volume 12

More blurry cell phone pics from our day to day life:

Hope's first ice cream cone of the summer
Juliana wasn't interested in ice cream - but she was interested in Joe's snow ball (just not the spoon)
 Hope making chicken stew
Soon to be our new back yard
 Sleepy sleepy
 My favorite flowers
The junk you find in the back of closets....
I haven't blogged about it - but I broke my ankle mid-May.  It really isn't a spectacular story - I was just stepping off of my Mom's porch.  I then drove home, hoping it would feel better after the three hour drive and not trying to walk on it (I am also lucky it was my left ankle so I could drive).  Instead, it felt much worse.   Luckily it was not a bad break - the Dr said it was more of a sprain, with some chips and a crack - but the crack was light, and my bone was perfectly lined up so I could walk on it with a boot and it healed rather quickly.
I had these for two and a half days - MISERY!
Another visit from Morgan - we also got her an ice cream treat.

A typical sequence of events: dumping crayons, climbing on the table, then laughing about it
Juliana loves sitting on this little couch
She loves standing on it even better

Photo Shoot

I took the girls for photos yesterday - it as just as much fun as it usually is.  Juliana was much more cooperative than Hope - probably just because she is slower.  Hope was so busy telling the photographer what props she should use that she didn't have much time to get in front of the camera.  But overall I am happy - partly because I have lowered my expectations, but also because I think Juliana's are so darn cute and Hope's are certainly representative of the little girl that she is.

Here is a sampling:

I really do not like this little chair that Hope always gravitates to - and she always seems to insist on sitting in it when there is a white back drop.  But she sat still in it - even if only for 20 seconds or less.

I love her....

Both in the photo with happy expressions - coordinated block and ballon - that is all I can ask for.

Hope loves her hair in braids - and she loves her ice cream shirt
Joe forgot to bring home his lunch bag one evening....zoom in - yes, that's make-up and lipstick on the bag he took to work this day
Getting dressed in the morning - in Mommy's socks - at least two pair, it may be three
Girl time!  Hope - age 3, Ava - age 2, Juliana - age 1, and Ella - 5 months.  All beautiful blue eyed girls (with nasty cell phone flash mixed in)
