Day 29 of Thankfulness

I am thankful for memories - like this last time that I saw my Grandma on January 1, 2011.

Day 28 of Thankfulness

We had a great Thanksgiving. It was a busy day, but the girls were relatively well behaved, which considering they didn't nap today or yesterday, was a great surprise. So now I am stuffed. I am also happy to have everything cleaned up and put away. And I am thankful that I don't need to set my alarm to get up in the morning.

Tomorrow is a nothing but fun day with the girls. In fact, I am hoping for a nothing but fun weekend with the girls.

Day 27 of Thankfulness

Thanksgiving day evening, I was exhausted. After a marathon of picking up and cleaning the house (a few times since the girls were home with me) then doing some baking and preparing for Thanksgiving dinner, I was ready for bed. A big house is nice. A big house is also a lot of work. I sure was thankful for my comfy bed.

- I am also thankful for my brother and sister in laws who came over Wednesday to prep food. They prepared a lot of food ahead of time, which made Thanksgiving Day relatively smooth.

Day 26 of Thankfulness

I am thankful that the girls like to help me clean.

Day 25 of Thankfulness

I am thankful for a new song to listen to in the car. We are taking a break from "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and now Juliana loves "The Chipmunk Song." She actually calls it "The Gummie Bears." We can listen to it five full times between home and daycare in the mornings, six times in the evening. This thankfulness may be short lived.

Day 24 of Thankfulness

I love cute dresses for little girls. Juliana and Hope are fashion divas.

Day 23 of Thankfulness

Hope helped me pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child. She would only help with the girl boxes though - she wanted nothing to do with the boys.

Day 22 of Thankfulness

I am thankful that I typically only need to fill up my gas tank once every two weeks - so much better than before we moved last year.

I am thankful to enjoy my favorite food - crab cakes.

Day 20 of Thankfulness

I am thankful that this morning traffic didn't make me late for a conference downtown today.

And I am thankful that I made it there with only this much in my gas tank (51 miles, but in stop and go traffic that 51 disappears quickly.)

And when I got there, I was thankful that I had used less than half of my gas - 31 miles left to get to a gas station at the end of the day.

But then in the evening, by the the I got out of the parking garage and into the street, I was down to 23 miles left .

And then the street was nothing but gridlock. Two blocks later I was down to 17 miles.

No worries. I was thankful to make it to a gas station, in an area I was familiar with, where I wasn't afraid of being mugged, and I put 20.194 gallons into my 20 gallon tank.

Day 17 of Thankfulness

I am thankful that the painting part of putting the girls rooms together is done. I didn't paint their whole rooms, just the doors to add a splash of color. But doors really aren't my favorite thing to paint, so I am thankful to be done. Now for the fun stuff!

Day 16 of Thankfulness

I am thankful that the classy mini van that I drive has a rear view camera. It makes driving the bus so much easier.

Day 15 of Thankfulness

I am thankful that I am finding the time to finally get the girls bedrooms together as I have been wanting to since we moved. Juliana's big girl room is coming.

Playing Dress-up

While we were at the beach in September, we went for an Old Time photo shoot.  The girls had lots of fun dressing up.

Horse Back Rides

When I was a little girl, I loved getting horse back rides from my dad.  Hope and Juliana now love it too.

Kathy with my dad - I'd guess this is around December 1973.

And me in January 1976.

And now Hope in October 2013

And Juliana in October 2013.

Day 12 of Thankfulness

I am thankful to be parking in the garage again after a couple weeks of parking outside after our garage door opener died. This spoiled girl doesn't like carrying two little girls with their stuff through the wet grass in the morning, or fumbling with keys with an armful of lunch boxes and crafts in the evening. It is so much easier to just push a button.

Juliana and JoJo update

This weekend I lucked out and happened to have my camera at the same time that we saw JoJo, so I had the opportunity to add a more recent photo to my "Juliana & JoJo" album.  JoJo is five and a half weeks older than Juliana.

This little guy is such a ham.

A look back:

Fall 2012 - they were at the age that standing or sitting still while next to each other was pretty much impossible.

Fall 2011
Spring 2011 - Juliana was three weeks old and JoJo was two months.

Day 11 of Thankfulness

I am thankful for home sweet home.

Sisters

Hope and Juliana usually get along pretty well.  They do have some disputes, usually over sharing, but they really do look out for each other.

I took the girls outside for a photo shoot in the middle of October.  Here are some photos of my two little girls together:
