Jersey Friday

Hope and Juliana wore their new jerseys to daycare on Friday.  They had a Ravens party.  When we walked in, Hope happily put on some purple beads and told me she liked the Ravens purple balloons.  But she wore her Steelers jersey all day.

The Giggles

Heads up:  you will hear some high pitched squealing.

Real Food!

Kind of sort of. Yesterday Juliana tried rice cereal for the first time. At first she spit it all out, but today she got the hang of it a little better. Hope insisted on helping and was even the one to give her the first spoonful. Then I had to ask her not to gag her with the spoon. Hope opened her own mouth when she wanted Juliana to open hers.

Bedtime

I love rocking Juliana to sleep at night then putting her in her crib and watching her sleep.  A few evenings ago, after I laid her in her crib, I went to get my camera so I could capture one of my favorite memories.  When I went back into her room, this is what I found:
And I have been digging out the Steelers gear getting ready for football season to officially start.  Juliana has quite a collection between the new stuff she has and Hope's hand-me-downs.
Here is a pair of my favorite jammies:

The outfit to the left is what Juliana wore home from the hospital:

And here is Hope in the same jammies in August 2009:

A Trip to the Farm

Hope loves to visit the farm and see the cows.  Often, on our drive up, she asks if we can go see the animals first - before we do anything else.  It is pretty easy for her to sweet talk my dad into taking her.

Leah, Jenna and Devin also joined them on this recent trip.
Holding hands and looking for cars before crossing the road.  I thought what a nice picture it would be of them all holding hands and walking in through the field.
But instead, apparently my dad made a deal with them that they could race in through the field if they cooperated nicely while crossing the road.
Devin, Jenna and Leah sitting on the big hay bales.  Good thing Hope isn't up there, it might just give Joe a heart attack.
Hope and my dad looking for apples on one of the apple trees.
Hope loved running around.
She picked some old dandelions.

She ran several circles around the house.  I think she just liked climbing down this side of the porch and onto this rock.

My dad showed Hope a spring of water - great, she was dry up to this point.
Why look...is that Hope up there?  Calm down Joe, it was only for a second and Jenna was holding on to her.

It was a fun trip.  The only part missing was a visit in the house with my Grandma.

The Fourteen Month Difference

Back in July, the girls and I went to my sister's for a cookout.  It was a lot like a cookout we went to fourteen months earlier in May 2010.  But while some things were similar, other things were certainly different.

Devin in May 2010:

Leah in May 2010 - just finishing up Pre-K:
Leah - July 2011 - ready to start first grade:

Hope in July 2011 on the same tri-cycle- 28 months old:
In May 2010, Hope only had one lonely front tooth:
July 2011 - no sign of baby left:
May 2010 - my mom had no idea she had a cancer tumor growing inside of her:
July 2011 - my mom is now a cancer survivor:
May 2010 - I used this picture of Hope picking dandelions to make my grandma a card:
July 2011 - it is just a thought, a wish, but not a possibility that my grandma could hold Juliana like she is in this picture holding Hope:

May 2010 - Juliana was a thought, a wish, and a real possibility.

July 2011 - a wish come true - here is Juliana hanging out with her uncle Darvin.

A Little Behind

I am a little behind on my blogging, but here are a couple of photos just so the regular readers can see something new.

Hope standing still for an oh so brief second

And since I try to be balanced and post a somewhat equal amount of photos of both girls - here is Juliana with my aunt JoAnn.

I hope to get caught up soon.
