Happy 65th Mom!

My mom is now officially old enough for Medicare.  We made a surprise visit on Sunday to wish her a Happy 65th Birthday.  Of course I wanted a picture of her with all six grand kids.  Who do you think was the most un-cooperative?

Here she is sitting in a rocking chair because she didn't want to sit in the sofa with everyone else.

So then Jenna tried holding her.  That didn't go so well.

Then I called in my dad to join the picture - he just loved that.  At first he was hiding behind Hope, but then luckily he started cooperating more than my two year old.

My sister got some coordinating clothes for a group photo shoot (just the kids) sometime this fall somewhere on the farm.  Yeah....I wonder how that is going to go?  We only need one good one, right?  I think I can get the other kids to listen to me, now I just need someone for Hope to listen to.....Kathy?

Four Month Update

Juliana had her four month check up yesterday.  She is 26.5 inches long and 17 lbs 1 oz.  She got a couple of shots and did quite well with them.  She cried, of course, but she didn't go nuclear like she has in the past.

Juliana is sleeping pretty well at night.  She is typically asleep by nine, she is typically up for the day by seven in the morning, and she is typically up once in between for about 15 minutes - long enough to drink a four ounce bottle.  Her naps are still relatively sporadic.  She takes a lot of cat naps during the day, but occasionally will take a 2 hour nap.

Juliana drinks a lot - usually at least 36 ounces a day, and some days up to 40.

Juliana has been rolling all around - usually it is just from side to side.  She did roll over completely from her back to her belly this past Sunday, but hasn't bothered with rolling as much since.  Sitting up is her favorite position.
She has started kicking around and splashing in the tub with her legs and feet, but hasn't used her hands yet, so bath time is still relatively dry for me.

Juliana talks and squeals and laughs out loud.  It is cute, especially when it is at Hope.  She has made raspberries a few times too. She is better at grabbing and playing with her toys - she really gets a hold of them and feels their shape, and of course puts them in her mouth.  She also grabs my hair, shirt, and anything else in arm range.

Here are a few more photos from our photo shoot this past Sunday:

I took naked photos of Hope at four months, so I course I have to treat the girls equally.
Hope "helps."

She really studied her knees a lot during the photo shoot.

Four Months Old

Juliana turned four months old today.  I will have more of a write-up later, but for now here are a couple of photos I took today:

Just Because

This morning I took a couple photographs of the girls, just because I hadn't taken many for the past two or three weeks.

This evening Hope wanted to help feed Juliana her bottle - for about 60 seconds.  Joe wanted to help for about as long.

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon

An example of the activities at my mom and dad's on a Sunday afternoon:

Hope is normally exhausted from the visits to see the cows, sheep, chickens and especially the kittens.  Devin and Jenna like to play with the games on my phone.  Usually Leah is close by too anxiously waiting for her turn.  Where is Leah?
If a baby is in the house, Jenna probably has her.

My dad reading Bailee's favorite book to her.
 There's Leah!

She Cracks Me Up

Here are a few photos of Hope after she stole my Mom's wig.  She proclaimed herself "so pretty!"  My mom's hair is starting to grow back now, so she won't be needing this much longer.

The fat lip?  Yeah, Hope ran into the door on my sister's screened in porch.  The door came right open and Hope fell right out.
